PRODUCT DESIGN OPTIONS

Air Cooled Chillers

Air-cooled chillers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to the ambient air.

These systems are ideal for processes where facility water is unavailable or costly. Standard design parameters require adequate ventilation and an ambient air temperature between 5-35 C. High ambient models are also available.

Water Cooled Chillers

Water-cooled chillers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to an auxiliary facility water supply such as a central chilled water system or cooling tower.

These systems are:

  • Easy to install
  • Feature a small footprint
  • Modular design
  • Quiet operation
  • Capacities up to 100kW

The facility water source does not need to be temperature controlled, however water sources exceeding 35C may require special design features. (See facility water requirement graphs.)

Non-Refrigerated Heat Exchangers

Non-refrigerated heat exchangers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to an auxiliary facility water supply such as a central chilled water system or cooling tower.

The facility water source must be at least 10C below the process water temperature to provide a temperature differential (typically 10C). Models offering smaller temperature differentials are available upon request.

These systems are easy to install and feature a small footprint, modular design and quiet operation. They require no refrigeration and are available with capacities of up to 150kW.

Specialty Fluids Chillers

Due to extreme temperatures, dielectric fluid requirements, or algae issues, many applications are best suited for heat transfer other than plain water.

Through years of experience and close partnerships with the specialty fluid manufacturers, Affinity has become the leading manufacturer of highly engineered chillers for use with specialty fluids including:

  • Ultra-pure DI water
  • Deionized water
  • Water & Glycol mixtures
  • 3M Flourinert and HFE dielectric heat transfer fluids
  • Dow Syltherm Silicone Oils
  • Ausimont’s Galden Fluids

Features:

  • Agency approvals-CE, NRTL, MET and Semi s2-0200 listings
  • Small and large capacity units available (500W to 300kW)
  • Wide temperature range -85C to 200C

Benefits:

  • Close partnerships with fluid manufacturers to help customers avoid common issues
  • Leak free operation through the use of conservative solid plumbed coolant designs and magnetic drive pumps Lower cost of ownership, longer lasting DI cartridges and leak free fluorochemical units

REFRIGERATED CHILLERS

Affinty® control solutions are designed to your specifications and are focused on saving energy costs. High-performance systems in compact, modular and user-friendly designs deliver process temperature ranges from -80 C to +200 C and cooling capacity from 500 Watts to 300kW.

WATER to WATER HEAT EXCHANGERS

These modular designed units support multiple etch process tool requirements and are compatible with multiple process fluids including DI, synthetic and water/glycol. They provide electrical energy savings and a significantly smaller footprint than POU chillers.
