Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports To:
Engineering Manager
Job Description:
Primary responsibilities include the review of engineering designs and documentation prior to the release to manufacturing (DFM). The Manufacturing Engineer will work with Production to assist in testing and performing root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve unit issues. The Manufacturing Engineer will also identify and make improvements in unit design and the manufacturing process using the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and direct all efforts relative to the manufacturing requirements of products, systems applications, as well as test and manufacturing equipment.
- Review designs and documentation for chillers and heat exchangers including product specifications, bills of material, drawings, test procedures and assembly instructions.
- Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, test, troubleshooting and service personnel.
- Assist test personnel with completing test procedures for units.
- Root cause mechanical, refrigeration and electrical issues for units.
- Update drawings in both Microstation and Solidworks to current standards.
- Conversion of legacy data to Solidworks drawings.
- Create and maintain part numbers and bills of materials in Oracle.
- Communicate effectively with engineering, suppliers, salespeople, manufacturing and other departments.
- Apply engineering principals as needed.
- Must be knowledgeable in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements, both within Lydall, and externally at our customers/suppliers. Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement.

Minimum Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required:
- High School diploma required. Bachelors degree (BSME) required.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe).
- Ability to read schematics and logic diagrams.
- Mechanical pumping systems knowledge required. Refrigeration and electrical systems knowledge preferred.
- Minimum two years experience with Solidworks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Experience with Oracle (or other MRP systems) preferred.
